Vara is not just my brother; he is a compassionate soul, a devoted educator, and someone who has always been there for others in their time of need. Now, he is facing the toughest battle of his life against Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer. Over the past two years, he has shown incredible strength, undergoing treatments that have given us hope. However, the financial burden of his ongoing care has completely drained his resources, and as a family, while we have stood by his side financially and emotionally, we are now at a point where we cannot do it alone anymore. I'm Dr. Vara Prasad Rao Vakadani, working as a Principal in Lowery Memorial Higher Secondary School, a non-profit Christian School in Bangalore-16, India, for many years. I have always found joy in shaping young minds and dedicating my life to helping others. Now, I find myself in a battle for my own life and I need your support to continue this fight.

In August 2023, I was diagnosed with Advanced Non-Small Cell Lung Cancer, a diagnosis that changed my life overnight. Since that day, I have been fighting this disease with every resource and ounce of strength I have. The journey has been overwhelming, both physically and financially.

Over the past several months, I have spent more than $30,000 on essential life-saving treatments, including hospital stays, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, immunotherapy injections every three weeks (Keytruda and Pemetrexed 720 MG IV in 100 ML), PET scans every three months, molecular testing, and routine lab work.

By the grace of God, my treatment has shown promising results, giving me hope to continue. However, my doctors have recommended that I remain on this treatment plan, along with additional medications, for at least two more years to maintain progress. However, the costs remain overwhelming: $2,850 every three weeks which will total at least $50,000 over the next two years. Unfortunately, I have exhausted all my financial resources, and my family and friends, who have supported me tirelessly until now, are no longer able to assist due to their financial limitations.

I'm humbly reaching out for financial assistance to continue my treatment. Any support you can provide whether monetary or by spreading the word to your friends or neighbors can give me the chance to continue my treatment and fight this deadly disease.
