Support Drew Bird's Medical Recovery Journey

My name is Drew Bird, and for many years, I have been a proud and active member of the film industry. Like many, the pandemic and recent strikes have greatly impacted my work , and despite my resourcefulness, my savings have been depleted. I've always faced challenges with strength and optimism- until , on September 2nd, I suffered a heart attack that changed everything.

The emergency surgery saved my life, but left me with nerve damage in my right arm, making daily tasks incredibly painful and nearly impossible. Unfortunately this is just the beginning of my medical journey, as I have veto face a second stent operation in two months. As I focus on healing, I'm faced with the harsh reality that I am unable to fully support myself through this process, both physically and financially.

At 69, I never imagined being in this position, but life has a way of surprising us all.

I had hoped to be more prepared for such emergencies, but the current times have been challenging for all of us. Now more than ever, I find myself relying on the kindness and generosity of my community.
