Support Dr.Jason Finkelstein's Road to Recovery

We have started this GoFundMe for our brother, Dr. Jason Finkelstein, who was a passenger in a tragic car accident on February 8th while working as a physician first responder and unfortunately needed a right leg amputation.

Jason is still in the ICU and as you can imagine, this accident has been a whirlwind for Jason and our family. It has been devastating watching our brother in agonizing pain, suffering multiple injuries and needing multiple surgeries. For us, Jason has always seemed invincible like superman, always active and on the go, prioritizing helping other people but never needing help himself so to see him now grapple with what this accident means for his future is heartbreaking. The right leg amputation is life altering and we want Jason’s sole priority to be his recovery, which we know is going to be long and filled with many hurdles.

Jason has devoted his whole life to helping others and serving his communities and now is the time for us to help him. Jason grew up in Staten Island playing sports and spending time with his dog Rosie. He is a proud Binghamton and SUNY Upstate Medical University alum. Jason completed his residency at Morristown Medical Center and did an EMS fellowship at Johns Hopkins University. Jason currently serves as an Emergency Room doctor in Virginia and is an EMS Medical Director for two counties in Maryland. The car accident took place after responding to an EMS call to help others in need.

Your contribution will alleviate the financial burden Jason is expected to face due to the high costs of his specialized rehabilitation and ongoing care. We want to ensure that Jason will be able to continue his passion for practicing medicine, while also receiving the necessary physical and mental health care he will need to cope with this trauma.
