Support Dublin's Dream: Therapy sessions and Vetting care

Donation protected

Meet Dublin!! Dublin was born in March 2024 and was a normal puppy up to 5 weeks of age. At 5 weeks old, he lost his ability to use his back legs. A rescue was able to take him in. During this time, he had been tested for multiple illnesses, including Lyme disease. He also had imaging completed to rule out any injuries. All was clear. Nothing stood out as to the cause of his paralysis. He was seen by a neurologist who thought his symptoms appeared to be that of a neosporosis infection. Despite 2 negative blood tests, he was treated with an 8-week course of antibiotics and an antiprotazoal. We didn't see any real improvement, but he also did not decline!

Dublin uses a wheelchair to get around and a nice doggy stroller! Due to this all happening while he is a puppy, he has started to have scoliosis in his back.

Dublin has touched the hearts of every person he has come into contact with! He has visited people with disabilities and was a great inspiration to those who met him! We decided that as much as he enjoys people and people enjoy him, we would love to help him become a therapy dog! Our dream would be to visit those in hospitals with disabilities or even meet kids going in to have a wheelchair fitting!

Despite all of the obstacles in his life, Dubs is always a happy guy!! His tenacity to live life to the fullest is contagious! We are hoping to raise funds to help Dublin with twice a week therapy sessions through Twin Cities Rehab. We want to be able to reach our dream of becoming a therapy dog to help others and be in the best shape possible and maintain comfort!
