Support Dustin's Journey After Brain Bleed Complications

Dear Friends and Supporters,

I'm reaching out as Dustin Cole-Putland’s aunty with a heartfelt plea to support my courageous nephew. At just seven years old, Dustin has endured more than most of us could ever imagine. After months of battling serious health challenges, his dream holiday granted by the Starlight Foundation, has been cruelly postponed due to an unimaginable diagnosis—his skull has begun to dissolve.

Nearly two years ago, Dustin suffered a devastating brain bleed. He was on the road to recovery and eagerly anticipating his Starlight Wish: a magical trip to the Gold Coast theme parks. But our hopes were shattered when his mum, Tina, discovered a "soft spot" on his head. Despite the doctors' efforts to fuse his skull with a titanium plate, an infection forced its removal.

Now, Dustin is back in the hospital, bravely facing yet another battle with a helmet shielding his vulnerable brain. He confronts multiple brain surgeries and a long, challenging road to recovery with many weeks spent in hospital. Tina, a single mum, has been tirelessly supporting Dustin through these difficult times with the unwavering help of our amazing family and community.

The last two years have been a true testament to the amazing capabilities of a mother and her family. They have spent every moment of their time supporting the needs of their family and ensuring that both Dustin, and his older sister Alexis, are cared for and supported.

We are raising funds to support Dustin during this critical period.

The funds will be used for:

• Family Support: Assisting Tina with travel, accommodation, and daily expenses as she navigates this arduous journey. The daily cost of living beside Dustin’s hospital bed is high.
