Support Dustin's Long Road to Recovery

Please please please please keep us in your thoughts, prayers whatever. Dustin Brian Krueger was in a terrible car accident. He is alive but in quite a state. We are devastated

The accident rendered him unconscious. Because his vehicle was up under the trailer, they had to remove him from the back window. Rescue teams were able to rouse him and then he was life-flighted to Holmes regional medical center and arrived around 5:30 p.m. They had some trouble stabilizing him on intake because he had lost so much blood. He required two transfusions. His right leg has multiple compound fractures starting at the femur all the way down to the ankle. Both the ankle and the femur will require two to three surgeries a piece, separately. They will both require external stabilization braces and pins. His sternum is broken. He broke almost all of his ribs. He also has a pneumothorax. When I left around 9:30 they were wheeling him to the OR. I just received a call around 11:00 that he's out of surgery and headed to a room, and that they weren't able to fully clean and debride the wounds to add the braces because he has so much metal shrapnel embedded in the bones. Another surgery to clean it out better will likely happen this weekend. He is VERY lucky to be alive. I will update more when I can. Please send him all the love and well wishes as his road to recovery is going to be very, very long. Delilah especially, she is inconsolable about her daddy

Update- Delilah and I headed to the hospital at 1am and spent two hours with Dustin. They were able to extubate him after the surgery. He is stable and does have some external pins and supports in his leg. Still has a drain in his collapsed lung. He is still in the ICU and obviously in a tremendous amount of pain. Once they administered a new round of pain meds, we could tell he was tired, so we took our leave for the evening. Thank you to all who have reached out it means a lot to us❤️ I will update tomorrow when we see him again.
