Hello everyone,
My name is Andrea Rose and I am setting up this GoFundMe account on behalf of my husband, Dwight Rose, and I. First, I want to thank everyone who has reached out and offered to help. We have been showered with love over the past few days and it has brought us so much hope and joy in an otherwise very dark time in our lives. Additionally, we want to thank all of the nurses and doctors and healthcare workers that have been working on Dwight's case. Thank you for all that you do!
If you know Dwight, you know that he is just the best human in the whole world. He is so kind and generous and has been a light to so many people. He is bright and funny and even in this terrible situation he has managed to bring joy and warmth to everyone around him. He would do anything to help the people around him and always goes out of his way to be there for the people he loves.
Here is a little bit of background to what has been going on: In the early morning hours of Sunday, 8/11/24 I was woken up to the sound of Dwight yelling. Initially, I thought it was just a bad dream he was having but quickly realized that he was actually having a seizure. Before that morning, Dwight had never had a seizure or a history of seizures. Luckily, it occurred in his sleep and I was there to witness it and move him to his side. Later that morning, Dwight and I went to the emergency room at Swedish Medical Center where he went through a series of exams and tests to determine what the cause of the seizure was. All tests had come back fine and the last test we waited for was a CT scan. Upon review of the CT scan we were informed that there was a clear cause for the seizure as a tumor was discovered in the frontal lobe of Dwight's brain. Dwight was at that point admitted to the hospital and the next step was an MRI. The results of the MRI showed where the brain tumor was located and allowed for the neurosurgeon to give us a plan of action.
Now, Dwight is currently medicated for the seizures and taking medication to reduce the swelling in his brain which will aid in the surgery to remove the tumor. We won't really know much more until Dwight undergoes surgery to remove the tumor in his brain which will occur in the next two weeks. At that point we will have more information on the type of tumor in his brain and what next steps will be. We remain hopeful and optimistic and ask for everyone to keep Dwight in their prayers and thoughts as we navigate whatever is coming our way next.
Some people (again we are so grateful to have been met with such an outpouring of support and care) have asked if we had a fundraiser set up for Dwight. We don't really know what costs will look like now and for the future. The purpose of this fundraiser is to start building up funds towards whatever those medical costs may be. Finances, (although this seems like the least of my worries right now as his life is so much more valuable than any number and I'd do anything to keep him) we know will be difficult soon.
Thank you for reading this and for your support. Again, keep up the prayers and well-wishes. We hear and feel all of it. We love you all so much and again are just so grateful for so many people reaching out to help and share their love and support for us. We love you all and we are hanging in there.
