Support Dylan's Urgent Kidney Transplant

On Thursday, August 1st, Dylan went in for routine bloodwork at CHLA to monitor her kidneys as she has had one functioning kidney since she was a baby. Some of the bloodwork hadn’t been done since she was 13 days old. Around 9 pm Thursday night, Matt received a call from CHLA stating that Dylan’s only functioning kidney was not performing how it should. Megan and Matt were asked to bring Dylan into CHLA immediately.

After more bloodwork, it was discovered that Dylan’s hemoglobin was incredibly low and she would need a blood transfusion, hoping that would help fix the reason why her kidney wasn’t functioning correctly. After two bags of the blood transfusion, Dylan’s kidney levels did not improve as much as they would’ve liked. The doctors worked on a plan of action, and after several days in the hospital and an influx of doctors coming in and out of their room to check and visit with Dylan, it was discovered that Dylan is in stage 4 kidney failure. Dylan will need a kidney transplant as soon as possible. Matt and Megan want Dylan to be able to live a full life, so they agreed that the transplant was the way to go.

Matt and Megan are Dylan’s best candidate for the transplant. The transplant process is very intense, requiring many appointments, and a team of doctors working on Dylan’s case. Matt and Megan are so grateful for the amazing team at CHLA.

This gofundme has been created to help alleviate the financial stress that Megan and Matt are going through, during the transplant process. Matt, a very hard working paramedic and firefighter, and the sole provider for their family, is very likely going to have to take days off of work to be with his family. We are also asking for as many prayers as possible for the Hoyt family during this difficult time.
