Support Dylan's Recovery After Accident
Donation protected
Update August 28th.
Dylan was transferred to Craig Hospital, which is a world-renowned rehabilitation hospital that specializes in spinal cord injury and brain injury. He's making amazing improvements every day. While Dylan is still not talking, and his left side is still not cooperating, his right side is making great strides. He is now feeding himself! Dylan also remembered his phone password so Cat could go into his phone and pull out some information she needed. He has started his rigorous physical therapy and may even get to go on a field trip to a park sometime soon. Cat has an apartment near the hospital so she doesn't need to commute from Canon City to Denver daily.
Update August 5th. Dylan has transferred to a long-term acute care ICU facility. When he arrived he had both a staph infection and a prolapsed trachea in addition to the traumatic brain injury. Those are both improving. But the best improvement is he is out of the coma. He is still really not functional but there is improvement! His eyes are open and he stares out the window. He has looked at his mom when she asked him to. He has given thumbs up. Plus he made some noises when Rabbi Birdie was singing. He still has a long way to go, but we are celebrating these small improvements! Donations are still needed to pay medical expenses and living expenses. Any amount is greatly appreciated.
My friend, Cat Kamke's son Dylan was in a vehicle accident on July 4th. He was ejected from the vehicle and landed on his head, causing a traumatic brain injury. Dylan is hospitalized in Colorado Springs and is still in a coma.
Dylan's mom is driving from Canon City to Colorado Springs each day to be able to talk to him and help with his recovery. Cat has taken a leave of absence from work and, while a single parent, is now trying to pay her bills as well as Dylan's! If you can help Dylan and Cat out with even a small amount of money, she would be grateful.
