Support East Falls restaurant and bar workers
Donation protected
As we all struggle to keep safe and healthy in this uncertain time, let's band together to help out the local East Falls hospitality workers who can't work their shifts. While many in the East Falls community will face some form of hardship in the coming weeks, we can all chip in to show the servers, bartenders, hosts, and cashiers that we appreciate them and will stand behind them.
This fund is designed to provide immediate and ongoing assistance to the restaurant and bar staff in the East Falls area who are being forced to miss their shifts due to COVID-19 and the city-wide lock down. Our goal is to begin distributing funds as early as possible, targeting April 13-14 for our first distribution, and we will continue over the next 2-4 weeks as funds allow. All funds will be distributed out to those in need.
Funds will be distributed as fairly as possible, taking into consideration expected hours missed, financial need, and time spent working in the community. While we know there is no perfect system for determining who is most deserving, our objective is to act fast and with the best intentions to help those closest to us. Applications for relief will be reviewed by a panel of local donors and will be verified against restaurant payrolls.
East Falls workers who are affected by the lock down and would like to be considered can submit a brief application using this link: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/KTGCWD2
Now is the time that we should band together and raise each other up in this wonderful community. Please consider donating. Even if you can only donate $5, that is $5 more than some of our neighborhood workers will earn this week.
