Support Ebru - Ocean Globe Race 2023

Dear Family, Friends, and Supporters of Adventurers,

my name is Ebru Yaral and I am a Turkish female sailor from Hamburg, Germany and I have been given the opportunity to experience the greatest adventure of my life:

I have been selected as a circumnavigating crew to join the 2023 Ocean Globe Race onboard the South African yacht Sterna!

The OGR is the first of its kind and is an homage to the first Whitbread Race from 1973 which over the years became the Volvo Ocean Race and is now the Ocean Race in which the best

professional sailors are racing on high tech sailing yachts.

The participants in the OGR however are mostly amateur sailors who circumnavigate the globe using traditional yachts and navigation methods and will have to trust each other, their resilience and dedication.

Since I was a little girl, the endless open sea had a magic draw on me and I always dreamt of exploring the whole world on a sailboat. To be given the chance to share this exceptional experience with the team of extraordinary persons onboard Sterna makes me very proud! To be further given the opportunity to show girls and females around the world that with hard work, determination, and passion you can achieve anything is probably the greatest achievement in my life!

As you can imagine, embarking on a voyage of this magnitude requires meticulous preparation, substantial resources, and unwavering dedication. To ensure that I can take full advantage of this extraordinary opportunity, I am seeking your support.
