Help Our Family Rebuild After the Eaton Fire Devastation:
Ed, Gina and Lulu Watson
Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,
We are writing this with a heavy heart and a glimmer of hope. Our family has recently endured a tragedy that we never imagined would happen to us. The devastating Eaton Fire swept through our community of Altadena, consuming everything in its path, including our cherished home and our whole neighborhood block.
Our house was not just a building; it was a sanctuary filled with over 50 years of memories, love, and laughter covering 3 generations. It was where we celebrated countless birthdays and holidays, and a place to which we always returned after a long day. Now, there's nothing left but ashes and the memories we hold dear.
Thankfully, we all made it out safely, which is the most important thing, but the road ahead is daunting. In an instant, all our possessions, and a sense of security, vanished. We are currently staying at a nearby hotel, relying on out of pocket funds as we begin the process of rebuilding our lives from the ground up.
The immediate need is to cover basic necessities – clothing, food, and temporary housing – as well as to begin saving towards rebuilding a new home and what will not be covered by FEMA. The emotional strain is immense, but we are determined to pull through with resilience and hope for a brighter future.
Your support, whether it be a donation or sharing this story, means the world to us. Every little bit helps and brings us closer to finding stability and creating new memories. We deeply appreciate your generosity and kindness during this incredibly challenging time.
Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any support you can provide.
With heartfelt gratitude,
Ed, Gina and Lulu
