Support Eddy Marin

The Santa Clara University soccer team is deeply saddened to share the news that one of our teammates Eduardo (Eddy) Marin was struck by a car while driving his scooter from campus the evening of October 18th just two days before our departure to play against LMU. There is an investigation going on at this moment but most importantly Eddy has been fighting for his life. The night of the accident the doctors had told his family that he probably wouldn’t make it through the night. Miraculously Eddy is here today and fighting and slowly healing.

Currently, he has had 4 surgeries the last one was just this past Sunday which was a 4 hour emergency surgery to remove an aneurysm that was continuing to grow. He is now at Stanford Hospital where he will be in the next few weeks. He has 2 more surgeries remaining, one of which involves facial surgery to the right side of his face.

Eddy’s parents and siblings are so grateful and appreciative for all the prayers and outpour of support. This is going to be an uphill journey for Eddy and his family. No matter how big or small your donation will be it will make a huge difference for them at this time. Eddy’s mother is going to take time off of work to be by Eddy’s side for as long as he needs. His father had to return to work. His siblings are here lending their support to their parents as much as they can. The GoFundMe would greatly help out with medical bills, travel, gas expenses, food, hotel accommodations, and rent for Eddy’s housing and this simply would alleviate some financial burden and offer them some comfort and strength at this difficult time.
