Support Edel's Journey After Stroke
Donation protected
Dear friends,
Today, I’m reaching out to you for Edel Canning, a loving mother to three beautiful girls, a cherished sister, daughter and loyal friend. Edel’s life took a sudden and unimaginable turn on March 3rd of this year, when she went to bed at home with her daughters, blissfully unaware that a catastrophic stroke would change everything overnight. That night, Edel went from being a full-time working mother of three, devoted to caring for her home and family, to living with a significant lifelong disability.
Edel has fought valiantly for her life, and thanks to her incredible strength, she has emerged from that battle. However, the journey ahead is far from easy. She now faces permanent disabilities that challenge her every day. After enduring 32 long weeks in the hospital, separated from her precious girls, she has now returned home while awaiting further treatment. But her home—once a sanctuary—now poses significant challenges that prevent her from being able to live safely and comfortably in her home.
Edel's resilience is inspiring, but to truly thrive, she needs a home that meets her new needs. She is awaiting admission to the National Rehabilitation Hospital in Dublin for specialised care, and in the meantime, we want to ensure her home is ready for her return. Unfortunately, the necessary modifications to the home will cost over €75,000.
This fundraising effort is aimed at helping Edel and her family adapt their home, creating a supportive, safe environment where she can focus on her recovery and be the wonderful Mam she is meant to be.
Every contribution, no matter how small, will make a meaningful difference in Edel’s life and her family’s future. Together, let’s bring her home and empower her to continue her incredible journey as a mother.
Thank you for your kindness and generosity. Let’s make this transition as smooth as possible for Edel and her girls.
