Support education projects in rural communities in Guatemala

Hola! We are One, Two...Tree! - a volunteer run non-profit organization that helps make English language education accessible in Central America, serving as a catalyst for social empowerment and fostering intercultural exchange.

Our focus is on reaching rural communities, where fluent English teachers are scarce. By supporting English language learners in rural areas, we hope to equip them with some of the skills and knowledge needed to engage in a globalized world and access a wider range of opportunities.

Currently, we have an active project in Santiago Atitlán, one of the many villages around Lake Atitlán in Guatemala.

Santiago is a Mayan Indigenous village with around 60,000 inhabitants. Tourism is becoming increasingly popular around Lake Atitlán and across the community of Santiago, there is an ever-growing desire to learn English as a way to benefit from tourism and enrich future opportunities by broadening studies and creating access to a wider range of jobs.

Our volunteers in Santiago teach English in public schools, collaborate with local organizations and offer English classes in our very own Learning Centre to those keen to learn.

And it’s a cliché statement, but every little bit does count! Here’s how you can help:

- 5€ allows us to print worksheets and supply material to cover two weeks of classes in public schools.

- 20€ lets us cover the cost of marker refills for five volunteers for three months.

- 40€ will enable us to renew school supplies and didactic material to use within our English classes.

We are also keen to start up new education projects in other rural areas of Central America and with your support we can make this happen!
