Support Edwin Henao's Final Journey Home

Edwin Henao, un altamente reconocido periodista y publicista residente en Nueva York, falleció en el condado de Queens el 2 de julio de 2024. Lastimosamente no por falta de amor o interés, pero más bien falta de comunicación no nos habíamos dado cuenta de que había fallecido, pero su comunidad, la comunidad Latina que el amo siempre hizo hasta lo imposible por encontrarnos, aquí estamos presentes para darle su último adiós.

Walter Henao, uno de los Hermanos de Edwin y encargado de realizar trámites en su nombre, Estará llegando a NYC el día Lunes para hacerse cargo de sus restos y llevarlos de regreso a casa, Medellín, Colombia para darle Santa sepultura, junto a su padre Eduardo Henao Cuartas (QEPD) y que su madre y demás hermanos puedan darle un adiós, como se merece.

Hemos estado como familia, en contacto directo y personal con el consulado de Colombia en NYC, la morgue judicial y la policía para tener los único y pertenecías de Edwin.

Agradecemos enormemente las muestras de ayuda y cariño hacia Edwin, se ha sabido siempre que fue querido y apreciado pero ha sido muchísimo más que imaginable la colaboración y amor recibido por parte de todos ustedes en estos difíciles momentos para la familia.

Despues de recibir más de 20 llamadas en lapso de 1 hora, después de darnos cuenta de tan triste noticia, sabemos que hay muchas personas que desean colaborar con su proceso de repatriación, empezando por sacarlo de la morgue y además, realizarle una ceremonia de despedida en su amada NYC. Con sus amigos más cercanos y comunidad latina de la cual fue él un miembro reconocido.

Por este motivo y con mucho amor y respeto se pone a disposición esta cuenta para que todo aquel que desee aportar en los gastos con los que como familia se va a incurrir para llevarlo a casa, agradecemos de antemano todo el amor y entrega recibida para el!

Tan pronto tengamos una fecha definida para la ceremonia, editaremos esta nota, y avisaremos a los encargados de la comunidad Latina. Mil gracias a todos.

Edwin Henao, a highly recognized journalist and publicist living in New York, died in Queens County on July 2, 2024. Unfortunately not for lack of love or interest, but rather lack of communication we had not realized that he had passed away, but his community, the Latin community that he loved did the impossible to find us, and here we are present to give him his last goodbye.

Walter Henao, one of Edwin's Brothers and in charge of carrying out procedures on his behalf, will arrive in NYC on Tuesday to take care of his remains and take them back home, Medellín, Colombia to give him a Holy burial, next to his father Eduardo Henao Cuartas (QEPD) and that his mother and other brothers and sisters can say goodbye to him, as he deserves.

We have been as a family, in direct and personal contact with the Colombian consulate in NYC, the judicial morgue and the police to have the document list of what is needed and belongings of Edwin.

We greatly appreciate the signs of help and affection towards Edwin, it has always been known that he was loved and appreciated but the collaboration and love received by all of you in these difficult moments for the family has been much more than imaginable.

After receiving more than 20 calls in a span of 1 hour, after realizing such sad news, we know that there are many people who want to collaborate with his repatriation process, starting by taking him out of the morgue and also holding a farewell ceremony in his beloved NYC with his closest friends and Latin community of which he was a recognized member.

For this reason and with a lot of love and respect, this account is made available so that anyone who wishes to contribute to the expenses that as a family we will incur to take him home, we thank you in advance for all the love and dedication received for him!
