Support El with Terminal Cancer
Donation protected
Hi everyone,
Daniel and Lea here, writing this on behalf of our friend Eleanor McCleave.
Many of you are already familiar with her story, she was diagnosed with rare, aggressive brain cancer in November 2020. In the past couple of years it has spread all throughout her body. El has had multiple surgeries, radiation and intensive IV chemotherapy but unfortunately one of the tumours is now sitting in the middle of her heart. Her situation has developed to the point where she is now terminal.
El has worked as a theatre nurse and is well aware of the reality and gravity of her situation. She has made the brave decision to make the most of her life with her loved ones while she can, rather than spending precious time in hospital.
Every donation to this fund is going to have a direct impact on her life by giving her the means to chip into the parts of her bucket list that are still attainable.
There is also a drug that has recently become available that will possibly buy her some more time, while maintainig a good quality of life. But it is very expensive, think $4500 a month.
Prior to all of this she had plans to travel overseas, and has since set up her Ute for camping. Whether it’s local to WA, in Australia as a whole or internationally, El is going to do what she can while she can. If she finds herself home in Esperance, up in Perth, England or anywhere in between let’s help her with the means to travel to the next town to see a band that’s playing, swim with some whales or spend a night in a hotel accompanied by an overpriced massage and mock-tail by the pool.
It is a harsh reality that money is a bottleneck to many good experiences in life, so if you are able, please contribute so she can make the most of her precious time. If you know of anything other than money; such as tours, accomodation and experiences that you can offer, please reach out.
This isn’t a sob story begging for help, this is simply a honest beautiful person who has landed in a brutal situation and is being realistic about what’s possible. If you have the means and feel the urge to help, this is the way.
Eternally seeing the glass as half full, Eleanor sees potential in this last chapter. Let’s help her tap that card without a second thought.
Anything remaining from this fund will be donated in Eleanor’s name to Cure Cancer Australia, as she hopes the next person never has to make the same decision that she has had to.
Hug your loved ones tighter tonight x
