During Christmas, Carolyn noticed I was breathing funny. I didn't think much of it but in early January I visited ER for horrible stomach pain. At that time, they drained over 6 liters of fluid from my belly. Throughout January, pet scans, biopsies and more drainage was done. It was determined that there were and are cancerous cells in the peritoneal layer of the abdomen. Because this is treated similar to ovarian cancer, the diagnosis is officially ovarian peritoneal. I am so grateful to my amazing support system and loved ones and would appreciate anything anyone would be willing to offer with the medical expenses that are not covered by my insurance. In only 2 months, there have been several visits to the ER, doctors and specialists and there are many more scheduled.
