Support Elijah's Battle Against Brain Cancer
Donation protected
Elijah has been experiencing terrible headaches, nausea, and dizziness for a couple of months. His mom and dad had taken him to the doctor, and his symptoms were passed off as a virus. Tuesday, October 22, 2024, Elijah's headaches became intense. Michelle, his mom, took him to the ER where she talked them into doing a CT scan. They found a 3cm brain tumor at his brain stem/spinal cord. Elijah was immediately admitted to the hospital and set up for transportation to another hospital. After being transferred to another hospital, they learned the severity of Elijah's diagnosis and he was immediately transferred to Utah by plane. He is at Primary Children's Hospital for the foreseeable future. Today, October 24, 2024, Elijah will be having surgery to remove as much of the tumor as possible. Unfortunately, there will be a waiting time of a couple of weeks for the biopsy to come back to determine if the tumor is cancerous or benign. Either way, Elijah has a long road ahead of him.
Elijah's dad, Richard, is at his side and will be there until Elijah is able to come home. Michelle, who is unable to fly because of her own medical issues, is home with Elijah's brothers.
Richard is the sole provider for his family. With Richard needing so much unpaid time away from work, we are asking for any donations to help with medical expenses, transportation, food, and any other expenses that may come up.
Most importantly, we ask that you pray for Elijah, his family, and the medical team that are caring for him. We also ask you to pray the surgeon is able to remove all of the tumor without complications.
We are setting up this campaign for our Godson and Portillo Family. The Portillo Family has been through so much. It's heartbreaking to see them battling another crisis. They lost their oldest son, Art, to COVID in 2020 and their oldest daughter, Jasmine, on June 23, 2023, in a horrible accident.
God bless you, Elijah! We love you!
