Support Elizabeth's Comfort and Healing

Hello. My name is Kat, short for Kathleen.

My mom taught me from a young age to be involved in the community. We may not have had a lot, but we had each other, and we had a love for our community. We volunteered for the community center, food bank, animal shelter, and even worked at the animal shelter together eventually. On our days off we transported animals from Spokane over to the west side of the state and down into Portland Oregon for SpokAnimal. Mom and I were even on the board of directors for the food bank in Airway Heights for about a year. All my friends and people in our town still refer to her as Miss Elizabeth.

My mom’s spirit lives, breathes, and loves community involvement. Even as she has aged and has dementia, she has called and left me voicemails requesting to donate to SpokAnimal.

This fundraiser is for my mother, Elizabeth. My mother is in a facility and needs a different mattress. She was recently hospitalized for a urinary tract infection. While in the hospital, she began to get pressure sores on her body. The mattress being suggested is an air pressure mattress. The best mattress recommended for her age costs $4,179.00. The runner-up that would do the trick is $1,064.65. I’m asking for $4,500 for donations to get the mattress that’s recommended for her age and to pay the GoFundMe costs. As soon as I hit around $1,500, I may close this down and just get her the second option that is just as good.
