Support Elizabeth’s Life-Changing Treatment for TBIs

Hello friends, family, and those I hope to meet someday. Thank you for clicking into my story!*

*Narrated by my friend, Laura who kindly offered to help since she's a pro writer and doesn't battle vision challenges—LOL.

Four years ago, my life was turned upside down by a series of accidents that left me with traumatic brain injuries (TBIs). Until then, I had never truly considered what “Traumatic Brain Injury” meant. Now, I deeply understand the weight of the word “traumatic”—it perfectly describes the journey from a life of health and independence to one where I must rely daily on others—and, most importantly, on my Abba Father, God—to carry me through.

Tasks I once took for granted—getting ready for the day, preparing a meal, walking, reading, listening to music, and even holding a conversation—have become monumental challenges. These simple activities drain what little energy I have, leaving me with overwhelming dizziness, nausea, fatigue, and pain for the remainder of the day.

Yet, as difficult as these past four years have been, I am truly, truly grateful. The Lord is with me. He reminds me of who He is—my Comforter, my Provider, my One True God. I’ve learned to trust Him, rest in Him, and rely solely on His strength in ways I never had before. For that, I am indescribably thankful.

I also know, with certainty, that these ongoing trials have been preparing me for the Kingdom work He has for me when I heal enough to one day work again. The greatest growth often comes through trials, and I trust in His plan. I am reminded of James 1:2-4: “Consider it pure joy, my brothers and sisters, whenever you face trials of many kinds, because you know that the testing of your faith produces perseverance. Let perseverance finish its work so that you may be mature and complete, not lacking anything.

In His perfect timing, God has led me to a breakthrough—a therapy that is finally bringing hope and healing: Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy (HBOT).

Through years of therapy, specialist visits, and relentless prayer, I’ve tried nearly everything to recover. HBOT has been the first treatment to bring meaningful progress. By flooding my brain with oxygen, it awakens dormant areas affected by TBIs and encourages the growth of new blood vessels. After completing my first 40 sessions, I’ve already seen incredible improvements: less dizziness, better focus, and the ability to speak and listen for longer periods.

However, this therapy comes at a steep cost; the initial 40 sessions have cost over $5,000, none of which is covered by insurance. This also doesn’t include the cost of the necessary tests, supplements, and other therapies (like chiropractic care) that I need to heal. HBOT while effective, also requires consistency—five days a week over extended periods of time. With my inability to drive, I’ve been relying on friends and family for daily rides, which adds to the logistical and emotional burden of recovery. To make this therapy sustainable, my doctors recommend a home HBOT chamber. Unfortunately, the cost is significant: $10,500.

Given the improvements I’ve already experienced, I know this is an investment worth making into my health and future. I am ready to take this step and faithfully follow God’s direction to continue this therapy so I can fully heal and move forward with the plans He has for me.

I humbly ask for your support to help me continue this hope-filled healing journey. Whether through a donation, sharing my story with others, or lifting me up in prayer, your support would mean the world to me.

Additionally, because I follow a strict diet as part of my recovery, I am not seeking meals at this time. Though, if you feel led to support me through providing food instead, please consider doing so through gift cards to stores like Cub, Costco, or Target to help meet my nutritional needs.

Thank you for prayerfully considering how you can help. I trust that the same God who has carried me this far will continue to guide and provide moving forward.

Thank you for being part of my story to persevere and heal!

With gratitude and hope,
Elizabeth
