Support Ellen's Battle Against Stage 4 Cancer

I never thought I would be here asking for donations on GoFundMe. My little sister Ellen, at just 28 years old, was recently diagnosed with stage 4 breast cancer. She has invasive ductal carcinoma with metastases to her axillary lymph nodes, mammary lymph nodes, liver, and bones. What started as a simple ultrasound on July 16th became a mammogram, and then a biopsy on the same day. July 19th was her breast cancer diagnosis and after a series of scans (CT, MRI, PET scan), she was told it was stage 4. Surgery is no longer an option for Ellen since it has metastasized. Her treatments as of right now are an injection every month along with 2 oral medications. This is supposed to be a forever treatment plan. Ellen was advised to travel to Houston, Texas to seek clinical trials and a second opinion at MD Anderson, the country's top cancer hospital. With her being out of work because of doctor's visits, she isn't working full-time anymore and therefore no longer receiving the insurance coverage she needs.

As family and friends know, Ellen is a sweetheart and has nothing but the best intentions for everyone she encounters. This is heartbreaking for me to write and for my family.
