Support Ellen’s Kidney Transplant Recovery

****. Update. ****
This experience has been more than I have expected. I had my transplant and everything was going well. I was released from the hospital 5 days after my transplant.
I was in Birmingham doing follow up visits and labs at the hospital. I then got a UTI. The stent between my new kidney and my bladder shifted. Which caused the UTI to get into my bloodstream and cause a blood infection.
I was then readmitted to the hospital and spent the next 10 days trying to get this blood infection under control.
I hate to have to ask but I am finding myself in financial distress. I do not have short term disability benefits and I have used all the vacation time that I had available.
I had to extend my stay in Birmingham and additional week from my original plans and I have had to spend over $1000 in Rx copayments alone. The IV antibiotics that I had to get for the next 18 days had a $600 copay by itself. Which was a little overwhelming to me right now. I had to put that copay on a monthly payment plan.
Forgive me for sharing all these details I am hoping that those who can would be willing to help until I get myself back on track.
Hoping that you could find it in your heart to help out if at all possible.
Love and hugs to you all.

Ellen has been on dialysis for over four years due to an inherited kidney disease.
We are excited to announce that she has finally received her much needed kidney transplant and is on the mend.
For the next few weeks she’ll need to stay in Birmingham to be close to the hospital and will be off work for at least a month while she recovers.
We are asking for your support to help Ellen pay for her lodging in Birmingham and support her for the next month so that she can make a full recovery.
Any amount you donate is greatly appreciated. Thank you in advance for your generosity and support of Ellen’s recovery process!
