Support Baby Ellie Womack's Healing
Hi everyone! This is Raegan, Greg's sister. On July 25th, Jesslyn and Greg Womack had a sweet early surprise as they welcomed their baby girl Elijah “Ellie” Belle Womack into the world. She passed all the checks with flying colors and seemed to be strong, healthy, and ready to meet her big brother, Julian.
While they were getting ready to be discharged from the hospital, they started to notice some small jerking movements from her. As they started to happen more frequently, the pediatrician was notified and they thought it was best that she be transferred to UC Davis Medical Center NICU team.
After extensive testing, Ellie’s MRI results have come back as “severely abnormal” showing a good amount of brain damage most likely caused by the seizures.
The doctors say that at this point the damage already done will cause extreme issues as she may have difficulty eating, swallowing, and breathing on her own. She will have a follow up MRI the first week of August to see if there are any changes…we are praying for God to give us a big miracle.
The brain is amazing and God has designed our bodies as miraculous vessels…our prayer is that she will astound the doctors.
Jesslyn and Greg will be needing to make the trip to UC Davis in Sacramento from Placerville, CA sometimes twice a day. Their first son Julian is 13 months old and still needs to see his mommy and daddy, so they are needing to divide their time evenly between both of their children. The costs involved with this is going to be much more than was initially thought, for Ellie may have to be in the NICU for a few months. At this point, anything will help.
