Help Us Lay Emery “Elmo” Saunders to Rest

On March 20, 2025, our beloved friend and family member Emery Saunders—known to many as “Elmo”—was tragically taken from us in a senseless act of violence. At just 37 years old, Elmo was shot and killed in a domestic incident on Winston Ridge Road in Lynchburg, Virginia. His loss has left a hole in our hearts and an overwhelming weight on his loved ones.

Unfortunately, the investigation into his death has left many of us feeling like justice is far from being served. The woman who shot him has already been released, and the family has received little closure. In the midst of our grief, we are also struggling to give Elmo the dignity he deserves in death.

We are asking for your support to help cover the costs of his funeral and burial. Every dollar will go directly to these expenses—anything left over will go to his mother and daughter.
