Support Elva Reyes-Espinosa y Familia

Our friend Elva Reyes-Espinosa needs our help. Elva was recently diagnosed with invasive lobular breast cancer. She's a few months into her cancer journey, and there have been ups and downs throughout, but she is putting up the good fight. The good news is that they caught it early and it is fairly localized. She has already had a successful lumpectomy, but more is to come. This is where you and I come in.

As you know, Elva is an independent contractor – a court interpreter. As an independent contractor, she does not qualify for State Disability Insurance. She’s managed to continue to work while recovering from her first surgery. However, now Elva is about to start daily radiation treatment with another surgery on the horizon after radiation. As such, she will not be able to work for a while. The Reyes-Espinosa household is losing half of their income at a time when medical bills will stack up and when they need to focus on healing and recovery.

I am asking you to join me in supporting Elva, Robert, Anadelia & Joaquin. Let’s help them be able to focus on Elva’s cancer fight, healing & recovery. Let’s help them make up for Elva’s disappeared income – so that they can pay the bills, not get into crazy debt, and concentrate on what really matters right now – healing. You know Elva. You know that she shows up for her people. You know that she gives us all her time, energy, and dollars when we need it. Now it’s our turn to show up for her. Our time to give her our time, energy and dollars. She has loved us so well. Now we need to love her back – ten-fold. Elva needs us right now, so let’s show up.
