UPDATE:::: April 9th 2025
Hi everyone - Edith here ( Elyse's Mom) !
I would like to this time to first THANK EVERYONE who has supporter my daughter Elyse via the Go Fund me page , attending the Yoga sessions , sitting with her at Chemo and sending her supportive messages and PRAYERS through out the last 6 months!
I would like to update everyone on Elyse's progress over the last 6 months!
Elyse started her Chemo sessions on October 31st- she did really well week one and most of her sessions were bearable.
She has had almost 16 rounds of chemo- 12 weekly sessions, these were very difficult at times;
1/2 a dozen hospital stays;
allergic reactions;
countless blood draws and IVs.
Then she moved on to the final 4 - kindly referred to as
"The Red Devil" chemo - ending with her final one on April 10th.
These last 4 infusions have lived up to the name give- extreme side effect, unbearable bone pain, body ache and skin rashes, loss of appetite, lack of energy.
My poor girl has been strong and resilient and has barely complained- BUT it has been very hard.
We are all so very proud of how well she has navigated the changes she has gone through; hair loss, weight gain; chemically induced menopause, shin rashes, bone pain. It has not been easy.
Our family and friends has been the most amazing support network, taking turns sitting at chemo with us, lending us their hot tub for body pain relief therapy , Body massage sessions, attending Yoga fundraising sessions, bringing us food on Chemo Thursdays and especially PRAYING.
THANK YOU is not enough of a work.
We will wrap this part of this journey and she will RING THE BELL!
Next phase will start in May and then we will continue the fight....
Edith

For Elyse
In 2024, breast cancer was predicted to affect over 300,000 women. New cases. My cousin, Elyse, became one of those 300,000 women. On Tuesday, October 1st, the first day of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, we learned about her cancer. She’s been diagnosed with Invasive Ductal Carcinoma. She’s 27; not even the age for a routine mammogram! But I digress. 91% of women become survivors. She will also be part of THAT statistic! My cousin’s strength comes from her mother, my aunt. Her cool, calm, and collected demeanor truly guides our family as a whole. I’m grateful for that because it helps serve as the lighthouse of my family. Her strength runs deep and her faith deeper. The treatment needed for this monster of a diagnosis is costly. If you can help us in raising money to make sure my cousin has the best care possible, we would all be so grateful. My aunt is a hard worker and there’s no doubt that she will continue to work hard for her family, but the astronomical costs for fighting this are unfair. Any little bit helps, but if you find yourself not able to help financially, your prayers and good vibes are also very much welcomed and needed. Thank you, let’s fight this!
