We are excited to announce the launch of a new publishing community!

The dream of starting a publishing community has been sitting within us, fermenting for decades. It was just a matter of time. Isn’t that the thing with all good ideas? They sit, percolate, then manifest at just the right moment. Together we bring decades of experience in writing, editing, publishing and promotions, and have both been published in various formats and forums. (You can read more about us on our webpage.) So it seems like a natural next step for us to support other writers.

We have seen over and over again good writers struggling to get support and to get published simply because they are unknown or don’t have a platform. Our aim is to give voice to emerging writers who are at the edges - whose works highlight the voices and issues that often remain unheard. Edges are liminal spaces where one thing ends and another begins. It takes courage to walk a fine line and to stay at the edge. It isn’t safe but risky. It is a place of messiness and transformation. But it is when we are playing at the edges that we experience innovation, creativity and impact. The edge entices us to go deeper.

As a publishing community, we offer more than just a publishing platform. We nurture quality emerging writers through coaching, resourcing and connection with other writers. You can read more about us on our webpage.

Our first book is underway and we already have received expressions of interest for other books. We have many dreams for the future of At the Edges. We dream of a nation of writers that are creative, exploratory and unique. We need funds to make that happen. We’d love for you to be a part of that vision with us.

Our target is to raise a start-up amount of $20,000 in the next 3 months. This will cover a day a week in the first year for Armen and Karina to devote their time to setting up the community – things like a business plan, legal and financial setup, website, social media, promotions and the day-to-day running of the business side of things. After one year, we will be able to reduce our reliance on donations as the community becomes self-sustaining.
