Support Emily Glasgow's Road to Remission

Hello Yoga Centric community, friends and family. It's with both optimism and hope that we update you on the current health status of our most amazing Emily Glasgow, the studio's manager and yoga teacher.

Over the last months, Emily has suffered with many symptoms of an unknown origin and after several tests and doctors appointments, she has received a diagnosis of stage 4 splenic marginal zone B-cell lymphoma, a rare, slow-growing type of non-Hodgkin lymphoma (NHL) that affects the blood, bone marrow and spleen.

For those who have individually suffered or have supported a family member or friend who has suffered from a chronic illness, you are aware of the additional costs associated with medical care and maintenance. Although Emily's prognosis is good, she will be in need of maintenance therapies and medical care for her life span. Her initial therapies will begin as early as next week and although she has a company paid and provided insurance plan, the copays and general travel costs of her treatment have already began to add up.

After her initial phase of treatment, we will have more information about her long term therapy plan and know more about her specific needs. In the meantime, Emily has planned to continue teaching and working when she feels strong enough and rest when she needs. Although her schedule will be limited for the time being, we have hope that after her first 8 weeks of treatment, she'll be able to return to leading all of her classes that the community has grown to love. Because her immune system will be compromised during treatment, she may not be available for hugs, but she certainly is open for prayers, love and conversation when you see her.

Whether you choose to donate or simply drop her a card or note, all gestures are greatly appreciated. All monetary donations will be organized and used for the sole purpose of medical and travel expenses associated with Emily's road to remission and maintenance care. Up to date records will be kept if you are ever in need of donation confirmation or more information about fund usage.

This fundraiser will be managed and allocated to Emily by Yoga Centric.
