Support Ensemble Lyrae's Musical Mission

Hello! We're Ensemble Lyrae! We're a Boston-based women's vocal ensemble who believes in the power of music to make change. Our mission is to highlight unknown or under-performed works by women, for women, or about women, or works that promote ideas of justice, equality, and unity in our world. How does your support help us?
Your support helps us to:
- Support composers and arrangers through legal purchase of music
- Explore new and creative performance rental spaces
- Support and compensate the artists of Ensemble Lyrae, particularly guest artists featured on our innovative programs
- Broaden our audience range through the purchase of marketing materials
- Commission new works for women's small ensemble by contemporary composers
- Produce the highest quality of musical performance possible
Who are we?
Inspired by the natural beauty and brilliance of the constellation Lyra, we are four uniquely and highly talented musicians. While each of us shines as a soloist, together, we form deep connections in performing in any combination of duets, trios, or quartets. The four vocalists of Ensemble Lyrae seek to highlight relevant and intriguing themes of our time, as well as illuminate musical works, composers, and lyricists or poets often unknown or under-played. We also premiere cutting-edge pieces written specifically for the ensemble and their remarkable sound.
Whether performing in a spacious concert hall or a more intimate salon-style setting at home, we're a group of captivating Boston-based musicians prepared to enliven the audience's senses, engage their imaginations, and draw them into a world of timeless, beautiful sound.
Ensemble Lyrae has performed on the Music at Norway Pond Concert Series and Music at Whitehead Series and has been invited to perform at Boston Public Library's 'Concert in the Courtyard' summer series in the summer of 2020. We're the recipients of a 2019 Medford Arts Council Grant and Mass Cultural Council Grant, which allowed us to bring our program "Nevertheless, She Persisted" to a private audience at the Medford Council on Aging in June 2019. In December 2022, we were featured performers for 'Christmas at Mechanics' at the famed Mechanics Hall in Worcester, MA.
We hope you'll consider donating to us at any point during our 2024-2025 season. With your support, our creative limits are boundless, and we have you to thank for making those dreams possible!
