Support Eric Fernandez & His Family After Tragic Accident

Hello everyone,

My name is Jessica, and I’m reaching out to you on behalf of my brother-in-law Eric Fernandez, and our family.

Eric is 19 years old and is an easy going, respectful person, with a great sense of humor. He is a loving son, brother, uncle, and a friend to all. Those who know Eric would tell you he has always been an avid soccer player, who would play every day if the weather permits him to do so. He is a force of good in this world and demonstrated his dedication to serving others by enlisting in the National Guard and was set to go to basic training in February. However, that dream is now uncertain because on December 13th Eric was involved in the tragic accident that occurred at the Rosa Vega Bakery on Main Street in Torrington.

Eric was inside the bakery enjoying his lunch when suddenly a car crashed through the front of the building and pinned him underneath.

While there were many other victims of this tragedy, Eric was the most critically injured and after a lengthy extrication, he was airlifted to the hospital where he currently remains in the ICU, fighting for his life.

He will need ongoing, extensive medical care, many surgeries to repair broken bones, and once he gets out of the hospital he will need ongoing physical therapy to regain his strength and mobility.

Unfortunately, at the present moment Eric does not have medical insurance as his military benefits do not kick in until he deploys, and his family now faces overwhelming medical bills that will only continue to increase as his recovery progresses.

We are asking for your support and donations to help ease some of the financial burdens he and our family will incur due to this tragic event. Any donation, no matter how small, will help cover his medical expenses and provide support during his long recovery.
