Support Erica's Medical Recovery!

Erica is in the hands of an exceptional team at MGH/Brigham and is preparing for a craniotomy in April - her only real chance at relief. In this complex procedure, her surgeon will carefully open her skull to place pieces of Teflon mesh that will reinforce her fragile AICA-PICA arteries while meticulously repositioning compressed veins to relieve pressure on her brainstem and cranial nerves. Every movement must be precise to restore proper blood flow to her cerebellum without causing further damage.

The road to recovery will be long and grueling, at least 6 to 8 weeks, during which Erica will be unable to work, drive, or manage even the simplest of tasks. This is especially devastating because Erica recently took a leap of faith and started her own floristry business. As a self-employed entrepreneur she doesn’t qualify for PMFLA, meaning no paid leave, no financial cushion, and no safety net. Every day she’s unable to work is a day without income, making an already overwhelming situation even more precarious.

Anyone who knows Erica, knows she is the first one to help someone in need, whether with a bouquet of flowers, a shoulder to cry on or a dumb joke that makes you smile - she is the first person to I go to when I am in need and I really would like to make sure she doesn't have to worry about anything other then getting healthy during this time.
