Hello, My name is Brian and my brother Eric , was first diagnosed with brain cancer stage 3 back in 2017 when he was 19 for Anaplastic astrocytoma. The surgeon was able to remove some of the tumor but due to is deep seated nature, surgery wasn't be to remove gross total resection. He has done 36 times radiation and 1 year of chemotherapy and is still taking anti-seizure medication daily. For the last six years of his life, he was able to fight cancer and keep a positive vibe.
But, everything has changed again,in the past few months, he started to have olfactory auras seizures daily again and eventually turned to more complex seizures. He was rushed to the emergency room early this month. Multiple MRI confirmed that the cancer re-ocurrence and disease progression. He was staying at a neuroscience and rehabilitation center for two weeks. This time the complex seizure and tumor location is causing him to experience weakness on his left side of body. He is unable to stand up and move on his own, and requires others assistance, this disease progression has damaged his daily function as he doesn't have the same strength as before. He still has a lot of work to have a chance to get back to his motor functions as he will need to attend more physical and occupational therapy. As for the cancer treatment, he will have an oncologist visit in the middle of July to hear what might be the treatments going forward. A great possibility is that he will need another brain surgery, radiation and chemotherapy. We don't know what the outcome could be this time, as the tumor already causing his inability to move. It's hard to think at age of 25, he has to go through everything again and fight for his life.
Unfortunately, he has a long and very challenging road ahead with many unknown variables. We humbly ask for your support in easing some of the financial burdens and relieving some pressure for the family. Right now he needs all the love, prayers and positive vibes you have. Thank you, for your love and support of Eric and his family. You are appreciated !
