Support Erik Helffenstein's Family
Donation protected
Erik Helffenstein, a 45-year old husband and father of two young children, died tragically on October 29, 2018 after confronting burglars near his home in Nashville, TN.
A native of Buffalo, NY, a graduate of Orchard Park High School and Syracuse University with an MBA from St. Bonaventure, Erik had a larger-than-life personality and an even bigger heart.
He was a working man, an engineer, and was happiest around friends and family, including in his workshop where he made things for others to enjoy, like furniture for his extended family, go-karts for his kids and unique pieces of art for people's homes.
His passion for woodworking, skiing, biking, kayaking, canoeing and sailing were all shared pieces of his family life. And his love of life, his easy smile, his laid-back nature and his sense of humor will never be forgotten.
Erik was truly a gentle giant, one who died as he lived, protecting his family.
Those who knew and loved Erik, as well as those who have come to hear his story, have asked how they can help. With so many heartfelt messages and requests in mind, we started this Go Fund Me page with the hope of reaching out to all of those touched by Erik's life or his story.
If you are blessed financially, please consider donating. Donations will be used to help Erik's family, including his 11 and 9-year old children's future and education.
If you are not in a position to donate, your prayers and messages of support are appreciated as this family works to fill the void left by the passing of their loving husband and father.

A memorial service for Erik was held on Friday, November 2 at St. Matthew Church in Franklin, TN, where a group of about 200 family, friends and community members gathered to pay their final respects.
There will be a memorial service in Buffalo on a later, as of now, unannounced date.
