Support Ernest and Shane's New Home Journey after flood
Donation protected
Hello community,
My papa Ernest Gray and my dad Shane Gray lost their home and land in this devastating flood. While the trailer remains for now and we have been able to remove some of their personal possessions by hiking it through the woods, it may still go entirely with the next heavy rain. My dad is a carpenter and we already lost our shed which held all of dad’s tools. The Christmas ornaments my grandmother saved for generations were all washed away. The Christmas lights that used to light up Brook Road for a mile away were all lost. My grandfather and my dad will never be able to live there again and we will never be able to go back to our family home. My grandparents lived in Plainfield their whole lives, and lived at this property since the 60’s, they raised their three children in that home, and every one of their grandchildren lived with them for several years. My father is hoping to buy a new home for him and my grandfather. My family is so thankful to have eachother, to have the members of our community who have already volunteered their time and equipment We appreciate anything to help them start over from scratch.
