Support Ernest Levert Jr's Healing Journey
Donación protegida
On April 3rd, 2024 my biggest nightmare occurred. At 35 weeks pregnant with our second child, my husband Ernest Levert Jr. suffered from a sudden ruptured brain aneurysm. The severity of this brain bleed has been debilitating for Ernest and our family over the last five months. After multiple procedures, surgeries and 6 different hospital and facility stays, we are finally preparing for Ernest to return home this fall.
Throughout the last five months, our village has shown up for us in more ways I could have ever imagined. From sending donations, to providing meals, to babysitting, to researching, to providing birth/postpartum support and so much more. As we move to this next stage of recovery, we need your help raising money to make sure that Ernest is able to receive the best loving care possible.
More About Ernest's Condition:
Although Ernest has made significant improvement over the last few months, we anticipate the road to ongoing recovery will be a slow and gradual process. The impact of Ernest's brain bleed has left him with severe cognitive impairment, nonverbal and physical immobility. While we know and sense his warm spirit within, he is currently unable to consistently communicate with us and requires assistance for all daily living activities. These challenges means Ernest's return home will require us to make home renovations, hire 24 hour home health aide, and purchase medical equipment and ongoing supplies. While our insurance covers a great deal of these needs, it unfortunately does not cover all expenses.
Funding Support:
Your donation will help us cover the following expenses:
- Ongoing medical bills
- Medical equipment and ongoing supplies
- 24 hour home health aide ($15k-$20k per month)
- Wheelchair accessible home renovations ($60k+)
- Wheelchair accessible transportation expenses
- Any additional unexpected family expenses
While our faith and hope may waver some days, we are choosing to believe that the impossible is still possible. We are choosing to believe that our robust care team (medical doctors, immediate family, village support) can work together to give Ernest another chance to continue inspiring us with his testimony. If providing financial support is not currently within your capacity but you still want to help, stay tuned for updates on other opportunities for support.
