Support Erran Jr.'s Battle Against Leukemia

Donation protected

My name is Brianna Arreguin, and I’m the oldest sister of my youngest brother, Erran Jr. He’s about to turn 9 years old on April 18. Erran Jr. is the youngest of my siblings and the only brother I have. He is very caring, energetic, creative, loving, strong, and smart. Many describe him as a precious boy. He grew up very healthy and didn’t have any complications or conditions at all. But everything changed after he fell and hit his head. It wasn’t a bad fall, but the first week after he fell, he started feeling sick and went to urgent care, where he was diagnosed with the flu. The second week, he was still sick, so he went back to urgent care and was diagnosed with a stomach bug. By the third week, he felt better, returned to school, and then came home. He laid down on his bed, but he was extremely tired and had no energy. We all know that he always has energy and never wants to lay down after school, so we were confused and worried. Then he started feeling pain in his back, hip, ribs, and sides. The pain moved around his body, and he kept vomiting and had fevers on and off. He went to urgent care again and was diagnosed with a concussion. By the fourth week, things got worse, and we took him to the ER. A doctor decided to keep him at the hospital because something didn’t seem right, especially with him being taken to the ER multiple times in less than a month. His initial bloodwork appeared normal, but just two days later, his bloodwork changed, which shocked the doctors. They decided to order an MRI, a CT scan, biopsy, radiation, and other tests. On Friday, March 7, my family and I were told by his doctor that Erran Jr. has blood cancer, and everything changed in our lives. It was unexpected and completely overwhelming. We were all shocked and emotional. He’s battling acute lymphoblastic leukemia (ALL), stage 1, at 8 and a half years old. He was misdiagnosed with the flu, a stomach bug, and a concussion for a month, and we are lucky a doctor caught it early. The doctor said, “If he hadn’t fallen, we wouldn’t have discovered the cancer growing in Erran Jr.’s body for months. Thank God for making him fall. Falling on his head saved his life from a worse stage of cancer.” The first week of his cancer journey was rough. He had his first spinal tap surgery and first chemo on Monday, March 10, and his second round of chemo on March 13. He dealt with a lot of pain in his back and legs, mood swings, loss of appetite, nausea, and fatigue during the first week. It is so hard for me and my family to watch him suffer with cancer. Unfortunately, the doctor said that Erran Jr.’s cancer journey will continue for two years, affecting not only him but also me and my family, as we are part of his journey. This journey is financially draining, emotionally exhausting, and physically demanding. While Erran Jr.’s insurance has covered all his treatment, hospital stays, and medical expenses, our family is struggling with other costs, especially food, transportation, and supporting his needs. We are also trying to fulfill Erran Jr.’s wishlist of things to keep him company during his hospital stays and at home, to help him feel a bit of joy and comfort during this difficult time. Since his journey will continue for two years, we want to ensure we’re prepared for any future treatment, hospital stays, or medical expenses. Your donation will go toward helping our family with these ongoing costs and ensuring Erran Jr. has the things he needs during his recovery, from snacks to items that will keep him entertained and comfortable during his treatment. No amount is too small, and every dollar counts. Even if you are unable to donate, sharing this campaign with your friends, family, and social networks will make a huge difference. Thank you for your kindness, love, and support as we continue to fight this battle for our precious Erran Jr. #erranjrstrong
