Hi, I'm Ester!

As I was concluding my senior year of high school, I began to think about what I wanted my next step to be. I decided on a gap year because I wanted to learn more about myself and my passions, and grow into a wiser, more grounded person. God surprised me at the end of April with the perfect opportunity - Vanguard!

Vanguard is a gap year program that runs out of Wheaton College in Illinois. Its goal is to help young adults discern their purpose through leadership and discipleship training at Honeyrock Camp in WI. It's a great fit for me in many ways. I'm really excited about the chance to expand my wings in a different community and make new connections, to be in nature and learn to adventure, to have lots of dedicated time to spend with the Lord, and to do missions in Costa Rica and here in the U.S. (Learn more about Vanguard here.) Vanguard is a truly incredible program and the perfect way for me to begin my journey into the world.

Of course, perfection often comes at a cost. I have been blessed with substantial scholarships and generous gifts from close friends and family, but I still have more to raise so that I can be a part of this program. Your gift will go towards my flight home for Christmas, all of the (unfortunately, not cheap) gear I need for camping and freezing temperatures, and the remaining parts of uncovered tuition.
