Support Evan's Recovery From Cancer
Donation protected
Anyone who knows Evan knows that there is not a more kind and adventurous soul in this world. He is constantly outside: skiing, hiking, camping, paddleboarding, swimming in Tahoe, helping his mom in the garden, learning to surf, hanging out at music festivals. He got his degree from UNR in Wildlife, Ecology, and Conservation because he loves the nature around him, and is trying to dedicate his life to protecting it. He has the most creative mind, constantly wanting to try new ideas, especially when he's cooking. He always knows how to have fun, and he always makes sure those around him are having as good of a time as he is. Evan has always been the first person to offer a helping hand, whether it’s picking up a friend who’s stranded, lending an ear when someone needs to talk, or going out of his way to make sure everyone around him is okay. He is fiercely loyal to those he loves, always going the extra mile to show them that he cares. To know him is to love him, and so many of us do.
Late last year, Evan was told by his urologist that he had testicular cancer, and that he would need to undergo surgery to have the cancer removed. Leading up to this devastating news were months of doctor’s appointments, bloodwork, CT scans, x-rays, and ultrasounds - all trying to figure out what was going on. He is scheduled for surgery soon, but it has been a long and stressful journey here. Since December, the anxiety of carrying cancer around in his body has taken a huge toll on Evan both mentally and financially. The months of medical bills have been hard for him to keep up with by himself and his savings account is drained. A huge chunk of these bills have been from fertility treatments, because after his surgery, Evan has a higher risk for infertility, and he has had to take extensive measures to protect his chances for having kids. But these expenses are large and, unfortunately, not covered by insurance.
Those of us who know and love Evan know that he would be the absolute best dad, and it's heartbreaking to think that he might lose out on having kids in the future because it's simply too expensive right now. We want him to have the best chances for a full recovery and a normal life after his surgery. It's been so hard to watch him put a pause on his adventurous lifestyle as he deals with his life-altering illness, but he is strong and incredibly resilient, and we know that he can make the most out of his situation with the help of his friends, family, and community.
Alleviating some of his anxiety about meeting his current bills and helping him get through the next few months with very limited income would be a huge blessing for Evan. Any donation, no matter how small, will make a tangible difference in his ability to focus on healing rather than stressing out over expenses. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing this with others- every bit of support helps. Thank you so much for any contribution you can make!
