With heavy hearts, we share this difficult update. Glorie Chacon received a notification that every parent dreads. Gloria’s youngest son, Evan Chacon, was a passenger in a vehicle that was involved in a horrific high-speed car accident Tuesday evening, November 12th. The accident was just north of Smithfield in Richmond. His injuries are severe and life-threatening, including:

A traumatic brain injury and skull fracture
Damage to the bones in his right ear
Four broken ribs and a punctured lung
A shattered pelvis
Level 2 and 3 lacerations to his liver and spleen
Internal bleeding

Evan requires surgeries to repair his pelvis and skull, but the swelling in his brain must stabilize first. The doctors have informed us that the first 72 to 96 hours after a traumatic brain injury are critical. We are still below these numbers, and the situation is incredibly fragile.

Gloria Chacon, a single mother, is by Evan’s side every moment possible, leaning on her faith and the power of prayer to see them through. In her own words:

“I thank our Heavenly Father for giving him a chance to fight for his life. All we can do now is pray, wait, and be by his side. I believe in the power of prayer and that all things are possible with the help of God. Please help us pray for our beloved son, Evan.”

The emotional and financial toll on Gloria and her family is immense. She is facing overwhelming medical expenses, travel costs, and the need to take time away from work to support Evan through his long and uncertain recovery journey.
