Support Falandanaejah's Journey to Stability

My name is Falandanaejah and I’m 19 years old. Last year I lost my Mom and Step Dad due to gun violence and I am in need of financial help. This is my story:

On October 18, 2023, my Mom and Step Dad were having a disagreement that started getting heated. Me, having the heart for both of them, I tried to deescalate the situation. Instead of listening to me, my Step Dad thought I was being disrespectful. Next, he started yelling "BITCH BITCH BITCH!" at my Mom. Again, I tried to defuse the tension and told him it’s not ok to call my Mom that. He felt I disrespected once more and he raised his gun directly at me. Instinctively, my mom jumped in front of me, and she was shot. The bullet went through her stomach, exited her back, and grazed my ribcage. In my panic, and in the midst of me imploring my Step Dad to help my mom, he shot himself in the head. I witnessed all of this, and watched them both leave this planet. It’s too much to bear the hardest day of my life, because I was a victim too.

Now, I am on my own now. I found a job that pays me $13.50 an hour, which does not even cover my housing and transportation costs. It does not cover food because I’m staying in a place that doesnt have a kitchen and costs $245 a week. Prepared food is very expensive. I have to use an app-based rideshare because there’s no public transportation between me and my job. This costs me anywhere from $55-75 per day. The only thing that would really help right now besides a miracle would be my own transportation. I hope that with $5K I can pay for all or most of the price of a reliable vehicle. "
