After Tragic Loss In Loving Memory of Prasong (Song)
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Kyle. I’m here with my brother Thavi, and together, we’re reaching out with heavy hearts for our family. Our beloved uncle, Prasong (Song), who was more of a father to us than an uncle, was one of the missing boaters lost to the ocean off the coast of Sonoma near Bodega Bay. He was a rock in our lives, raising us with love, laughter, and guidance. Now, we’re suddenly standing in his place, caring for his wife—our aunt—and his three young children.
On November 2, our uncle set out on what was supposed to be another day of doing what he loved: fishing. The ocean was his second home. But the waves were unrelenting, and their boat was lost to the water. The Coast Guard called off the search the next day, leaving us shattered, still holding on to the smallest hope for a miracle. Jude, his oldest son, miraculously survived, washing ashore after hours alone in the sea. Though we’re endlessly grateful to have him safe, the family has lost its anchor.
Song’s children—just 6, 10, and 13—are left without their devoted father, and his wife has lost her partner and best friend. Song filled his family’s life with joy, strength, and boundless love, bringing home his daily catch to share around the dinner table. It brings a small comfort to know he was taken doing what he loved most, but his absence leaves a vast emptiness.
We are seeking support to help carry his family through this devastating time. Donations will go directly to his wife and children, easing the burden of funeral costs, grief counseling, and other immediate needs as they try to move forward without him.
Your generosity, no matter the size, is a beacon of hope for us. Every donation brings light to our family and helps us honor the beautiful life Song led. Thank you for sharing in our grief, for your compassion, and for helping us keep Song’s memory alive in the lives he loved most.
With deepest gratitude,
Kyle, Thavi, and the Family of Prasong (Song)
