Support Ha’atafu Beach Resort

Malo e lelei to all our family and friends,

Firstly we want to thank God again for his continuous love and protection over the lives of our beautiful Tongan nation. We are so thankful to hear that majority of people are safe and well. We are truly overwhelmed by all the messages of support and love from everyone and we know Moana and Hola will be humbled by your love. 

From our conversation with Moana, they are in need of supplies such as water, clothing and other bare necessities as everything they owned was completely washed away by the tsunami. Coupled with all the messages of people wanting to support, our family in NZ will send supplies home for Moana and Hola and the family over the next week or two. For those who would like to donate towards Moana and Hola and their staff’s recovery effort, your contribution will be welcomed.

Some of our staff who has journeyed serving at the resort for many years will now be left with no work to support their families. It is a devastating time for everyone. All funds will be directed to Hola and Moana to help with their family and those of the staff of Ha’atafu Beach whose also been severely affected by the Tsunami. We do appreciate it is currently a very tough time financially for many people so please do not feel the need to donate $. Your messages of support have been more than enough. This page has been set up to support our family who have lost everything they own through this natural disaster.

Ofa lahi atu to you all from the Burling family

My name is Alan Burling and I am the son of Steve and Sesika Burling and brother to Moana Paea. I am currently living in NZ and have started this page on behalf of my family and our business at home in Tonga which has been completely devastated by this tsunami. Funds will be used to supply drinking water, clothes, food and other bare necessities as well as provide financial assistance for our family in Tonga as they have nothing left but the clothes they have on their back. Funds will be transferred into our family ANZ Aussie account which is under my brothers name Michael and will then be transferred straight across to our business account in NZ.
