Support family of Griselda Rosales Hernández

Dear friends and family,

I am reaching out to you with a heavy heart to share the news that Griselda Rosales Hernandez lost her battle to cancer February 16, 2024. She’s leaving her husband and 3 children who are 11, 7, and 4 years old. She was only 30 years old and dedicated her life to her husband, children, and family. Life before cancer Griselda worked for the Urbandale Public school.

A year ago around this time Griselda came to the family and broke the news that she had stage 4 lung cancer. She explained it started as a mild cough and it gradually got worst. She went to get checked by several doctors and went to different hospitals until she received a diagnosis that’s when a doctor gave her 6 months to live. She fought hard for herself and for her family.

I’m asking for everyone to find it in their heart to support the family in this hard time to grant Griselda’s last wishes. she would like to be buried in Mexico where she was born.

Donations will go towards funeral cost and to be laid to rest safely in her final destination.

Me dirijo a ustedes con gran pesar para compartirles la noticia de que Griselda Rosales Hernández perdió su batalla contra el cáncer el 16 de febrero de 2024. Deja a su esposo y a sus 3 hijos de 11, 7 y 4 años. Tenía sólo 30 años y dedicó su vida a su marido, sus hijos y su familia. La vida antes del cáncer Griselda trabajó en la escuela pública de Urbandale.

Hace un año, por esta época, Griselda llegó a la familia y les dio la noticia de que tenía cáncer de pulmón en etapa 4. Explicó que comenzó como una tos leve y que poco a poco fue empeorando. Fue a ser revisada por varios médicos y fue a diferentes hospitales hasta que recibió un diagnóstico, fue entonces cuando un médico le dio 6 meses de vida. Luchó duro por ella y por su familia.

Les pido a todos que encuentren en su corazón el apoyo a la familia en este momento difícil para cumplir los últimos deseos de Griselda. Le gustaría ser enterrada en México donde nació.

Las donaciones se destinarán a los gastos del funeral y a su entierro seguro en su destino final.

Update: I wanted to thank everyone who donated. The family of Griselda appreciates everything that everyone has done to help during this difficult time. We had funeral services done this passed weekend in Des Moines and now Griselda is going home thanks to everyone. We are still accepting donations as there will still be more expense as she will have a proper burial in Mexico.

Actualización: quería agradecer a todos los que donaron. La familia de Griselda agradece todo lo que todos han hecho para ayudar durante este momento difícil. Tuvimos servicios funebres este fin de semana pasado en Des Moines y ahora Griselda se va a casa gracias a todos. Seguimos aceptando donaciones ya que aún habrá más gastos ya que tendrá un entierro adecuado en México.
