Update: we are closing this fundraiser. The fundraising team continues communication with Mr. Fayin Pan, and offers support to him and his parents as needed. The remaining funds raised from this fundraiser after the first check ($1400.27 after gofundme fees) will be delivered to Mr. Pan in Nov 2024 when he returns to St. Louis from his overseas trip.
Update: It's been more than a week since we started this fundraiser and we've been moved by our community's generosity! Today 06/10, we (Omar, Yimin & Min) wired the initial funds raised to Mr. Randy Pan's brother, Fayin Pan. After the gofundme fee (about $540), our campaign donated $2103.52 to Randy's family. Let's continue showing this family our St. Louis love!

On May 30th, 38-year-old Faming Pan, or Randy as most of his family/friends/colleagues in America knew him as, was leaving work at his restaurant St. Louis Kitchen, when he and a coworker were attacked in what's believed to be a robbery; the assailant killed Randy and severely injured the other man. Later his wife, Yan Zhu, had to rush to the restaurant to help identify her husband, a restaurant where Randy has worked for years with his immigrant parents, his brother Fayi, and his team of employees. This restaurant has been the livelihood for all of Randy's family, including his aging parents, his wife for more than a decade, and their two children.
5月30日晚上，圣路易斯（St. Louis）在North Kingshighway Boulevard 800 block的圣路易斯厨房（St. Louis Kitchen）中餐馆发生一起枪击事件，造成一人死亡，一人受伤。其中腹部中枪不幸身亡的正是38岁的餐馆老板潘法明先生。 十多岁时，潘先生与父母一起从福建移民来美打拼，已经在这个地方经营了10年，并深受附近食客的喜爱，也以此为家中老小提供更好一点的生活条件，包括他和太太Yan Zhu两个年幼的孩子。
Randy was loved by his employees, his fellow business owners in the Central West End neighborhood, and many of his customers. Being of a taller and stronger build, he was the provider and protector of his family. He was often the one taking care of family business matters and other issues that might require communication in English. Needless to say, his tragic death will forever change this hard-working immigrant family. They need our help.
据家人同事介绍，潘先生性格外向大方，和员工，周边的其他商户，以及老顾客关系都很好；就算是已经辞职走了的员工也会回来看他聊天。他是家中的顶梁柱，家中以及店里各种事务都是他一一打理。如今他不幸遇难，家中父母妻儿还有店里其他亲人员工都无不悲痛万分。
Randy's grieving family needs to take care of funeral arrangements for him; there are travel expenses for his parents' rushed trip to St. Louis, and for his wife, Ran Zhu, and their two kids' future expenses. Randy and Yan's son is only 12 years old, and their daughter 9.
