Support Br Sharaf’s Orphans (Killed on Friday)
We the Muslim and Yemeni Community of Albany, NY are seriously appalled and concerned about the shootings that killed 2 people and severely wounded 5 in Albany, NY on Friday, May 21, 2021.
One of the homicides was Brother Sharaf Addailam, of age 35, innocently caught in the middle of gang violence and unjustly killed. Brother Addailam was pronounced dead at Albany Medical Center due to serious injuries caused by the three bullets that struck him; we sadly bury him on Monday, May 24, 2021. Brother Addailam was fasting on Friday (Fasting 6 Days of Shawwal) when he was dropped off at our mosque by his pregnant wife for the weekly Friday prayer. The couple was expecting their fourth child. They had a ten-year-old son and two young daughters. After the prayer was over at 2:15 PM, Brother Addailam walked to the convenience store located on the corner of First and Quail Street, where he was an employee at Mr Sam Food Market. The shooting took place only 3 blocks away from our mosque and occurred on a weekday at approximately 2:30 PM; the busiest time of the day for businesses and when kids get off from school.
We are raising money to benefit his widowed wife, three orphan children and, and one unborn child. Any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause that means so much to us!
May Allah reward your and your family immensely for your generosity!
