Support Family: Recovering from California Fire
Donation protected
Hi, I’m Nessa. I’m raising funds for myself and my son and daughter we live in Southern California. A devastating California fire left us homeless and destroyed my place of work. Four months later, we’re still displaced and trying to rebuild our lives. The “Airport Fire” burnt 23,526 acres, and we were one of 160 homes and businesses lost in the fire. There wasn’t FEMA or widespread media coverage, we’ve been doing everything we can to get by. Right now, we’ve had to put our two 11-year-old dogs into foster care, and we’re living in a homeless shelter.
I’m an Irish immigrant from Dublin. Along with my daughter and son, we’re working hard to support each other. My son is in community college, staying focused on school despite everything and keeping his GPA up. We’re a close-knit family who are football and MMA fanatics! Go Rams! We’ve been pushing through, keeping each other positive, but we’re facing the reality that we are completely starting over. It won’t be overnight and will probably take years before life feels “normal” again. But we’re grateful we made it out safe and have each other.
We’re reaching out for support to help us get back on our feet. Any contribution will go a long way in helping us rebuild our lives. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for your kindness and generosity.
Funds will be spent on essential expenses, including rehousing, transportation and furniture.
