Support Faruque Amins Family

We were on our annual family vacation when we suffered a travesty. We arrived on Saturday, August 27th, and looked forward to spending quality family time. On Sunday, August 28th, the family got into the water mid-afternoon. As we were just knee-deep in water, suddenly my brother-in-law disappeared, and my brother Basir jumped in to save him. He also disappeared. My younger sister, Nasrin, jumped in after them to help and was struggling as well. We noticed something was wrong, and I rushed in immediately with a water board. I tried to grab them to hold the board, but I was dragged down into the water myself. After a minute, which felt like hours, I got back up trying to get air, and all I saw was the board floating away and far from my reach. Within a nano second, I was dragged down again and lost consciousness, and the next thing I remember was I was back up, gasping for air. I started screaming for help. My mom was also screaming for help and looking for them. My other sister, Nahima, and dad were frantically searching. After some time, the neighbors and a police boat arrived, and the police officer jumped in immediately and started searching. Five minutes later, they found my sister Nasrin and dragged her out of the water. She was taken to the hospital, and another 50 minutes later, they found my little brother Basir and my brother-in-law Afrid, both passed away. Basir was only 18 and Afrid was 34. My younger sister, Nasrin is 21 and currently on life support, fighting for her life.

My whole family is saddened and traumatized by this whole devastation. We ask for your support and prayers during this very difficult time as we grieve and attempt to heal.
