Support Feed Nova Scotia for the Future!
Hello,
I am Matthew Mac Donald, who has been an avid volunteer and supporter of Feed Nova Scotia, especially before the Covid-19 outbreak. I was born and raised on Prince Edward Island, and have always been an activist towards ending world hunger. Over the Christmas Holidays, I noticed the amount of weight that I had put on in 2022, and I decided that this year I would focus on my overall health.
In January 2023, I started with a goal of 60,000 steps per week, allowing for one day off per week. As the month went on, I noticed that I was walking on average about 8 kilometers per day. Once I noticed the amount of distance I was putting on, I was intrigued by the overall distance from East Point to North Point PEI and came to learn that walking 250 km is a one-way distance according to Google Maps to walk from East Point Lighthouse to North Point Lightstation on PEI. I then considered that this was a pretty easy goal to have, and thus spawn my newest goal. I am planning in 2023 to walk 3000 km minimum, which equates to 6 return trips across PEI.
As February came into being, I thought that perhaps I could also use the fact that I believe everyone has the right to food, and the fact that I grew up on PEI to potentially fundraise for Feed Nova Scotia while continuing with this goal. Currently, I have already reached one return trip on PEI (500+ km) and I have an excel spreadsheet that will help me complete my goal, as well as the inner drive to continue forward. Feed Nova Scotia (Metro Food Bank Society - Nova Scotia), has always had a special place in my heart since I started to volunteer with them back in 2018, and I believe they are an awesome place to fundraise for.
About the funds that I raise, I plan on donating near Christmas 2023 the total amount of funds raised to Feed Nova Scotia, to be used at Christmas time to help support families in need. Those that don't have enough funds to have a traditional Christmas dinner or get presents for their children.
Want to join me in making a difference?
I'm raising money to benefit METRO FOOD BANK SOCIETY - NOVA SCOTIA, and any donation will help make an impact. Thanks in advance for your contribution to this cause which means so much to me.
