Support Female Practitioners in Eastern Tibet:

Fundraising for A Construction Project of Raya Nunnery

The Raya Advanced Studies Buddhist Academy, known in Tibetan as "Raya Do'ang Xiezhou Gacaling(ར་ཡ་སྔ་འགྱུར་མཐོ་སློབ་མདོ་སྔགས་བཤད་སྒྲུབ་དགའ་ཚལ་གླིང་།)", is a monastery of the Nyingma school of Tibetan Buddhism.

Located at an altitude of 3,900 meters in Nangqian City, Yushu Tibetan Autonomous Region, Qinghai Province, it was founded by the second Buddha, Master Padmasambhava (Guru Rinpoche), in the incarnation of King Gya. The surrounding mountains naturally manifest the wisdom deity Manjushri's six-syllable mantra, earning the academy recognition as a sacred place of Manjushri.

At its peak, Raya Buddhist Academy had over thirty affiliated monasteries in Sichuan, Tibet, and Qinghai, holding a very high religious status throughout history. Many great masters, such as Gyangka Jamtso, Baima Renzeng, and Baima Zhimai, who achieved the Great Perfection Rainbow Body, have passed through its halls.

Currently, Raya Buddhist Academy is primarily for male monks. Its affiliated temples are women's monasteries. From the revered great master Baima Zhimai to the current management of the academy, there is a shared aspiration to provide a place for women to study and practice Buddhism systematically. However, due to various reasons, this goal has not yet been realized. Recently, through efforts from all sides, land use rights have been successfully acquired. With the agreement of all the monks, we can now officially begin the construction of a study and practice site for nuns at Raya, allowing young women from the affiliated temples to engage in study and practice, and providing a space for female monastics. This is a very auspicious opportunity that will benefit more female practitioners in the future.

The planned nun's study and practice site at Raya will include a 400-square-meter scripture hall and 110 monk quarters. However, the academy is not financially wealthy and faces significant funding shortages for this project. We urgently need support from all practitioners and friends to contribute to the construction of the Raya study and practice site.

The estimated budget for building the Raya study and practice site is at least 5 million yuan (approximately 700k USD). We sincerely hope that fellow practitioners and supporters will make heartfelt offerings and accumulate merit. Amitabha!

The merit of building a temple

The "Lotus Sutra" states: "If a person generates the aspiration to build stupas, temples, or Buddha statues, such people will see countless Buddhas, attain the supreme path, and benefit innumerable beings."

In the "Kṣitigarbha Sutra," it is said: "In the future, if virtuous men or virtuous women plant even a small wholesome root in the Buddha Dharma, such as the size of a hair or a grain of sand, the benefits they receive are beyond comparison."

The "Abhidharma-kośa" explains: "Among the meritorious deeds that are subject to defilement, the merit of building a Buddhist temple is the greatest. Those who support the construction of a scripture hall for the monastic community according to their ability will equally share in all the wholesome roots generated through the study and practice conducted in that hall."

The "Lotus Sutra" says that any good practitioner who aspires to sponsor the construction of a temple or altar can receive the following ten great merits:

1. The reduction or elimination of all past negative karma.

2. Protection from heavenly beings, turning misfortune into good fortune.

3. Removal of obstacles and the suffering of past grudges and revenge.

4. Protection from evil spirits and harmful beings.

5. Liberation from afflictions and ignorance, achieving peace of body and mind.

6. Abundance of food and clothing, with lasting prosperity.

7. Joy from the words and actions of oneself and others, pleasing to both humans and heavenly beings.

8. Daily increases in both merit and wisdom.

9. Rebirth in a noble family with good appearance and abundant blessings.

10. Rebirth in a land where the Buddha Dharma is heard, realizing one’s Buddha nature and quickly attaining Buddhahood.

Building the Raya study and practice site holds immeasurable merit, bringing unimaginable benefits to our present and future lives. We warmly welcome offerings, inviting everyone to join in this ocean of merit.

Upon the completion of the Raya study and practice site, Raya Buddhist Academy and its affiliated temples will hold ceremonies to dedicate the merits to benefactors and all sentient beings, wishing for everyone's auspiciousness, health, disaster alleviation, longevity, and the fulfillment of blessings and wisdom, quickly realizing enlightenment!

ར་ཡ་དགའ་ཚལ་གླིང་། མཚོ་འཕགས་༣༨༠༠ལྷག་ཡོད། མཚོ་སྔོན་ཞིང་ཆེན་ཡུལ་ཤུལ་ཤུལ་ནང་ཆེན་རྫོང་དུ་ཆགས། གེ་བཅག་ཚངས་དབྱངས་རྒྱ་མཚོས་ཕྱག་བཏབ། ཉེ་འཁོར་དུ་རང་བྱུང་ལས་གྲུབ་པའི་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཤེས་རིག་གི་མཚོན་རྟགས་ར་ཞེས་ཡོད་སྟབས་འཇམ་དབྱངས་ཀྱི་གནས་ཡིན། ར་ཡ་དགོན་དར་ཁྱབ་ཆེ་སྐབས་ཟི་ཁྲོན། མཚོ་སྔོན། བོད་ལྗོངས་ཕྱོགས་ལ་མཚན་སྙན་ཆེ།དགོན་ལག་ཀྱང་སུམ་ཅུ་ལྷག་ཡོད་པར་གྲགས། ལོ་རྒྱུས་ཀྱི་ཆུ་བོ་ཡོད་པའི་དགོན་པ་ཞིག་གོ།།

དགོན་པའི་བླ་རྒྱུད་རྣམ་ཐར་ཁྲོད་ཕུལ་བྱུང་གི་གྲུབ་པ་དང་འཇའ་ལུས་གཤེགས་མཁན་མང་ཙམ་གྲགས།གེ་བཅག་ཚངས་དབྱངས་རྒྱ་མཚོ། པདྨ་རིག་འཛིན། པདྨ་དྲི་མེད་སོགས་བླ་ཆེན་དམ་པ་གང་མང་བྱུང་།

ར་ཡ་དགོན་དགའ་ཚལ་གླིང་གཙོ་བོ་གྲྭ་པ་རང་བྱུང་བས་ཐོས་བསམ་མཛད་སའི་བཤད་གྲྭ་ཞིག་ཡིན། འོན་ཀྱང་དགོན་ལག་ཁག་བཙུན་དགོན་རྐྱང་པ་ཡིན་ཕྱིར། ཞི་བར་གཤེགས་པའི་སྐྱབས་རྗེ་དམ་པ་པདྨ་དྲི་མེད་གཙོར་ད་བཞུགས་ཀྱི་བསྟན་བདག་དང་དགོན་པའི་ལས་འཛིན་པ་ཡོངས་ཀྱི་ཐུགས་གཞད་ལ་བཙུན་མ་རྣམས་ཀྱིས་ཐོས་བསམ་སྒོམ་གསུམ་མཛད་ས་ཞིག་སྐྲུན་རྒྱུ་གཅིག་མཐུན་གྱི་ཕུགས་འདུན་ནོ།།

རྐྱེན་མང་པོའི་དབང་གིས་ལོ་མང་པོ་རིང་ལས་རྒྱུ་མ་གྲུབ། ད་ལོ་ས་དང་ལེགས་ཆ་གང་འཚོམ་འཛོམ་པས་ལས་གཞི་དེ་དངོས་སུ་དབུ་བཟུང་། དགོན་ལག་ཁག་དང་བཙུན་ཆུང་རྣམ་པའི་ཐོས་བསམ་མཛད་སའི་བསྟི་གནས་དང་མ་འོངས་བཙུན་ཆུང་དག་ལ་ཕན་ཐོག་ཆེ་པོར་ཡོད་ཕྱིར་ལས་ཀ་འདིར་བསམ་གྱིས་མི་ཁྱབ་པའོ།།

ར་ཡ་ཐོས་བསམ་མཛད་སའི་བཞེང་པ་ལ་་འདུ་ཁང་ངམ་ལྷ་ཁང་སྨིས་གྲུ་བཞི་མ་བཞི་བརྒྱ་ཡར་མར་ཞིག་དང་གྲྭ་ཤག་ཁང་པ་བརྒྱ་དང་བཅུ་ལྷག་བཞེངས་པའི་འཆར་གཞི་དང་ལས་བཞིན་པའོ།། སྔོན་རྩིས་ལ་ཕར་ཆེར་མ་དངུལ་ཁྲི་ལྔ་བརྒྱ་ཡར་མར་གཏང་དགོས་པ་འདྲ། ར་ཡ་དགོན་དགའ་ཚལ་གླིང་གཙོ་བོ་བཤད་གྲྭ་ཡིན་པས་དགོན་པ་ལ་དངོས་པོའི་དཔལ་འབྱོར་ཞན་པ་དང་ཐོངས་ཁུངས་ཆེ་བོ་མེད་པས། ད་ལོ་འདུ་ཁང་དང་གྲྭ་ཤག་གསར་བཞེང་གནང་རྒྱུ་སྐོར་ལ་དཀའ་ཁག་ལྕི་བོ་ཡོད་དོ།། དེ་ཕྱིར་ཆོས་ཡོན་སྦྱིན་བདག་རྣམ་པས་མེ་ཏོག་ཆུང་ཡང་མཎྜལ་ཚུལ་དང་རྒྱ་མཚོའི་ཐིགས་པ་དཔེར་ལྟར་འབྲེལ་འཇོག་རེ་གནང་རྒྱུ་བཀའ་དྲིན་བླ་ན་མེད་ཆེའོ།།
